Ever since I was a little girl I have loved to read. I belonged to the book of the month club by the time I was 3 years old, and frequently visited the library. My grandmother worked as a librarian at a catholic school in Rochester NY, which is outside of the town I grew up in. She made sure that I never wanted for stories to get lost in. Living in a rural area there wasn't much for me to do besides read, and I read any and everything I could my hands on. Growing up I loved presidential biographies aimed at children, my first crush was on Abraham Lincoln and he is still my favorite president. As an adult book have become my tools to learn as well as my main form of entertainment. In 2008 while working at a large financial company in Los Angeles my coworker Joey loaned me a series of books that changed the path of my life forever. It was a series that I could get lost in, just like the books of my childhood. The series she lent me are the books on which the television show True Blood is based on. To the reading world they are known as the southern vampire mysteries by Charlaine Harris. I read the first 5 books in 3 days! I couldn't stop, it was like a sickness! I was in love with the world of Sookie and Bon Temps, Louisiana. I was so emotionally invested in Sookie and what was going on in her world that I borrowed every book in the series that had been written till that point (8 in all I believe) and read them back to back. Then I started at the first book and read them all again. Very rarely does a writer speak to me in a way that I feel like I am right there along for the adventure. This renewed love affair with a series led me to re-evaluate my life and the direction my career was heading. I didn’t want to work at a stuffy office job that was crushing my spirit. I decided to go back to school and pursue my Masters in library and information science. I will be graduating in May 2014. This website is dedicated to the authors who inspire me, entertain me, and leave me wanting more, Thank you for all that you do!
